I've arrived in Blackpool, at last.
I set off from Bristol at 13.20 and finally arrived in Blackpool at 21.17. Manic roads, mad drivers, bad weather, accidents, road works, you name it. Still, now I know my car uses a lot less fuel driving 182 miles at 22mph. I'm having an early night, long weekend ahead and as much as I would love to be out and about tonite, it wouldn't do anyone any favors. Bright and early in the morning. I shall broadcast as soon as I've had breakfast. Http://feelfamous.com

How To Upgrade Your Webslang To Web 2.0 (Technology & Cars: Social Networking)
This video came out 2 years ago, I've only just seen it and sadly, it's more true than ever.
The probelm is similar to that of the CB radio of years gone by.
As new people came on the CB, they listened and learned from the people using it at the time. In the beginning it was people who respected the technology and the abbility to speak to new people across town, county, country or World, depending on "How big your Twig was" (the size of your Antenna), "How many Wellies you were Chucking" (The amount of power being produced by your Transmitter) and if you were using a Sidebander or Foot and Mouth (Single Side Band, SSB or Frequency Modulation, FM as your choosen method of Transmission)
Then, as people died off or got board with the Muppets, Planks, Phantom Keyers, Bucket Mouths and CBDJS more people came with the idea that this was the norm.
And so, Muppet begat Muppet.
Thus, CB radio became a sad place to be and as such, died out.
I wonder if this is the same thing, people using slang and phrases that really should have died out post dial up and yet, here we are in the same boat.
This video and a few others by the same folks at Videojug seem to be a Portent that we should listen to, on the Internets will become an even bigger cess pit that it is now.
Just sayin.

Getting things to work how you like it...
Can be a pain when you don;t really know what you're doing.
The idea is to set up this page to feed the new WP blog with interesting stuff.
When I know it works, then I'm good to go at Blackpool.

Bamboo Bicycle - Pandas Rejoice

This is an exciting time if you're a Panda without a Bike.
Now you can get your own Bicycle made from Bamboo.
Bamboo is the fastest growing woody plant in the World I always thought it was Hemp, but a Bike made out of Hemp would be silly, would'nt it?
I'd have a Car made out of Hemp, especially the new Eco Lotus Elise
Now there's a mode of transport for the Enviromentally Friendly Stoner.

I wonder how that would look with a Bike rack on the back, complete with a Bamboo bike? Too much? Not when you're saving the World it's not.
Too Stoned to balance your bike, then drive...
If you find it hard to imagine, try this artists impression (artist being me, the impression being a pretty bad one!)

Well I like it!

Philips LED's are getting Brighter
I have always said "Philips invent it, Sony improve it"
I wonder if that is true these days, I mean Sony have come up with a lot of goodies, PSP, PS1, 2 & 3, Mylo, Rolli (whatever that's about) Aibo, Blue ray etc
But since the Compact Disc, what has Philips been doing? Read my other posts to find out.
One thing they've been up to, is working with Light, which to my mind is a lot more useful hat a robot dog, though maybe less cute.
The latest product from the Philips stable is the Light Blossom.
Environmentally friendly Street lighting that looks like a flower and is both Solar & Wind powered, uses LED lights to dim when no one is around and when folks walk by, it gets much brighter, just where you are.
I can't wait to see these on my street.

Sheila & Barry, Have a Great Trip!
We were sorry to see you go, but happy too.
When you have waited so long to do something, its only fair your family and friends are happy for you when you do it, right?
Sheila and Barry wanted to travel the World, flying from Country to Country and seeing the sights at leisure.
But when Barry had a Stroke, they thought that Idea would be out of the question, he's not allowed to fly for more than a couple of hours.
So Sailing was the only way, and now they are doing it in style. On the wonderful P&O Ship the Aurora.
We wish you all the Love in the World and hope that you have the BEST time.
We will be watching the Aurora's Webcam and following your progress on the World map
We'll be following your progress at the Real Travel web site and look forward to your photo's and stories.
All our Love, Chris, Jane, Molly & Rosie xxxx

LED LENSER P7 Review by Vaughan Williams
A good customer of mine wrote this about the New Led Lenser P7 torch and compared it to his other torch the Fenix TK10.
I love hearing from my customers about the products they get from me, and how they get on, I hope you enjoy his little review as did I.
"This is a good light and more practical than the TK10 for general security work. Having an adjustable spot to flood control that can be operated single-handed is very useful on internal and external patrol routes in poorly or non-lit zones. (Increasing power costs and carbon footprint awareness are making reduced lighting more of a norm)
I found the higher power mode more useful than the lower power but low power flood will provide plenty of light for writing notes onto clipboards (for instance) without dazzling yourself. The P7 is a little heavier and larger than the TK10. It has much less side spill than the TK10 and therefore it produces a spot that appears the more powerful.
The P7 has two power modes but, so I found out, when the momentary switch is pushed it over-drives to about 130% which brings the total lumen output to near the same as the TK10 in turbo mode. Release the switch and it reduces to either the standard low or high power setting depending on the switch cycle. Therefore, for power fetishists, the P7 is the equal of the TK10 in terms of output and it has a tighter focus making it the brighter.

A set of AAA batteries are more likely to be had at an all night fuel station than a set of the more costly CR123a cells if you were to be caught out of juice. The P7’s AAAs should last longer too.
The TK10 feels more like a tank than the P7 and because of this and the crenulated head it would make for a better defensive weapon if the going ever gets tough. So, if your work tends to be similar to Jack Bauer’s with fire-fights to do and lots of hand to hand conflict scheduled in then go for the TK10 but if like me the main hazards of your job tend to be clouting your head or tripping over unseen obstacles and the main purpose is to do security checks in safety then go for the P7.
Er, I carry a TK10 on my belt too - because, well, you never know, do you?"
Do you have something to say about any of my products or service? Good or Bad, I'd like to read it.
Thanks again to Vaughan.
